28 weeks!

So I just realized that this is our 100th post...not too shabby! I'm 28 weeks today, which somehow sounds so much closer to 40 weeks than 27 weeks. :)

I passed my glucose screening test (where they test for gestational diabetes) with flying colors and I have lots of iron in my blood too, so things are going swimmingly. My belly is measuring a little bit ahead of schedule (I measured 29 weeks at my appointment this morning), so maybe our little guy will come early--or be huge. :) Either way, he'll be perfect.

The baby is moving up a storm. We had another ultrasound earlier this week and he was so funny! The tech. would try to get a good look at his profile, and he'd flip completely around so he was facing my spine. I guess he's just a little camera shy. :) It used to be that I'd only really notice him being active when I was lying down or being very sedentary, but now, I feel him moving around all through the day--when I'm doing dishes, driving, walking around...you name it. His kicks have been getting progressively stronger, and this week was the first time he kicked me hard enough to make me say "OOF!".

All in all, my pregnancy is going very smoothly. If my biggest complaint is heartburn, I think I'm pretty lucky. :)

26 weeks!

I'm 26 weeks today, and as usual, here's the proof:

Things are still going great! It's fun to watch our little guy's personality start to come out more and more. He's definitely got a strong personality already--if he doesn't like what I'm doing, he'll let me know! The other day, I laid down on the bed to take a nap (an all-too common occurrence these days). I was laying on my right side, and just as I got comfortable, the baby started karate-chopping the right side of my tummy as if to say "Don't squash me! Move it, Mom!". As soon as I rolled over to my left side, he gave me a few more emphatic kicks, just for good measure, and settled down completely so I could take my nap. :) His kicks are strong enough now that I can see them through my shirt a lot of the time, which is pretty fun. It'll be interesting to see all the changes that the next few months will bring! We are getting more and more excited for our little boy to come and join our family!

Kicks

Jeremy finally felt the baby kick this morning, and it was hilarious! I was lying down in bed (or is it laying? I'm never sure), and called Jeremy over to feel my tummy, since the baby was going nuts. At first, Jer kept pretending he felt stuff when nothing was happening, just to be silly. And then when the baby finally kicked hard enough for him to feel, he thought that I was faking! A couple of seconds went by before I asked "Did you feel that?" and he said "Oh...that was a kick? I thought that was just you!"

Anyway, it was fun. :)

24 weeks!

When I was typing the title of this post, I somehow switched the numbers so it was "42 weeks". Good thing I caught my mistake before I freaked you all out. And it's a really good thing I'm not that far along yet--we still have too much to do before the baby comes!!!

Baby is still growing just fine and things are looking great. I feel him moving around in there pretty regularly now, and I've even felt some kicks that were strong enough that I could feel them from the outside. Jeremy hasn't felt anything yet--it's hard figuring out the timing. It seems like every time the baby is going crazy and I make Jeremy come over to feel my tummy, the baby holds perfectly still again! Mischievous little thing. If this is any indication of what he'll be like in real life, I think he's going to take after his dad for sure. :)

I registered for our 4 week Lamaze course today (it starts the first week in January), and I'm starting to do some research on different coping methods for labor so we can start practicing and be ready to do this thing medicine-free when the time comes.

Here's a picture so you can all admire my swelling belly:

Happy Halloween!

We won't be doing any celebrating today (Halloween's just not that big of a deal in our house), but we did get a chance to dress up for our ward party last night.

Can you figure out what we're supposed to be?
And we've been having some beautiful sunsets the past few weeks. We looked outside yesterday evening to see this:

22 weeks on the 22nd

I'm 22 weeks today, and as usual, here's a picture of my growing belly:

It's crazy to think that 18 weeks from now (give or take a few weeks, obviously), we'll have our little baby in real life! It's fun to imagine what he'll look like and how cute he'll be. I can't wait. :)

Today's also my half birthday--I'm 22 1/2 today!

And the verdict is...

We're having a BOY!!!
Doesn't he have the cutest little face already? Everything works that's supposed to, and he's growing right on track. We can't wait to meet our little boy in just a few months!!!
